2008 Annie Awards Winners
The 2008 Annie Awards winners were announced on January 30th. I don’t know if there is a stronger correlation between the Annie Award or the Golden Globe winners and the eventual Oscar winner, but while Wall-E won the Golden Globe award in mid-January for best animated feature, Kung-Fu Panda just took home the Annie Award. Kung-Fu Panda also captured nine other awards. Other winners included Futurama: The Beast with a Billion Backs for best home release (I would have chosen Batman: Gotham Knight or Justice League New Frontier). Avtar: The Last Airbender won for best television production for children. Robot Chicken: Star Wars Episode 2 won for best television production, voice acting on a television, and writing on a television production.
